What's up with this a tutoring thing?

Hi! My name is Simeun and I live in Bosnia. You might have heard about my country, but chances are you only heard bad things. From now on, I'll try to provide a bit better image about my country, as well as other countries surrounding Bosnia. However, this blog isn't about politics.

What is Math A Tutoring about?

Well, for the most part, my plan is to make it about math, math problems and solutions to those problems. It was my idea to make a site that will help people solve math problems, the kind of problems they usually have when dealing with their homework, the kind of problems they usually give them headaches when exams are closing in etc. I have a couple of friends who will help me there, and we're hoping to get quite a community here, a community that will be able to collect a big chunk of knowledge in one place - knowledge that will be useful for people who will come here tomorrow, looking for the same thing you might be looking right now.

How will Math A Tutoring help me there? I hate Math!

Myself and my friend will teach you how to love math. :)
OK, that one is a joke. I'm quite stubborn person. I have a M.Sc. in Comp. Science, but I always felt bad for not taking Math as my major. I loved math courses more than my computer courses, and I've always put more energy into math than into computer science. Luckily for me, computer science is full of math. How does this help you? Well, I noticed that I was rather discouraged when stumbled on a math task that I couldn't resolve. One equation can take hours if you can't get that one detail! It can discourage you and make your studying day a hell. What if you could pass this wild equation to myself or someone at this blog, and we solve it for you? What if we solve this math problem for you and make your day? Does this sound like help?

In addition, it is my general idea to do something else - a video chat that would allow us to fix things for you, LIVE! Of course, this functionality will have to wait just a little bit, but it will soon be available, if we find people willing to go face to face with us and their math problems :).

Whom will you tutor until you have enough audience?

This was one of my first questions. Well, until we find some damsel in math distress, I'll be posting tricks and tips related to math. My crew can go around and look for problems people post to different sites (like Yahoo! answers), and format answers here. Maybe people start to love us? Why wouldn't they?

When will your A Tutoring be available live?

As soon as people start asking for it.

Will your tutoring be free?

Yes, for as long as possible. If there's bunch of people wanting help, and I come to the point where I can't help due to lack of time / heads and hands / something else, I'll probably come up with some low fee for this service. But don't worry - we're really far from there. Also, written help will never be charged for - only live help (if it ever starts).

OK, I'll go and force my friends to give some extra time to this. See you soon!
